Top Tips from a Therapist
Suitable toys for child on the Autistic spectrum vary widely dependant on the child's abilities. For some, lots of explicit modelling of imaginative play will be a great support to them (see tips on pretend play), for others working on the child's ability to attend to adult directed tasks will be a good starting point.
Try using an Attention Autism approach by using an Attention Bucket (see tips below on how to do this) to develop a child's ability to attend to adult directed tasks
